Bye Syesha!
Looking forward to next week’s Idol finals. I’m trilled it’s The Davids’ Showdown. I think Syesha was pretty sure that she was gonna say bye-bye. Her homecoming was not as spectacular as the two Davids. But it’s all good. She can follow Fantasia’s footstep and go big in Broadway.
Speaking of Fantasia, hope everyone saw the look in Simon Cowell’s face while she was performing during elims night. It was priceless. If you didn’t, you can click here. And that hair. Eyeeeewersss. But enjoy the booty and the screaming none the less.
On a different front, a couple of weeks ago PS held it’s annual summer outing in Island Cove. I still remember the 2006 outing in the same place. We went to the animal park to look at crocs and ostriches and then planted our butts in one area near the pool and proceeded to get smashing drunk and videoke-d all the way with the I.T. boys.

This summer outing though started out with record-high heat so I planted my butt (Sorry, hydraulics) in the covered area. Halfway through we decided it was time to mingle and went to the pool area where the organizers were hosting games. As usual, Noel’s competitive edge got the better of him (and Wilver, Via, Marl and not to forget competitive Vinnie too) and despite having no sleep and no extra clothes he joined the PS version of Amazing Race. I caught a glimpse of him trying to squeeze through one of our Directors on the stairs leading to the pool slides and I found it totally hilarious. The insiders would know why.
Anyhow, after the hoopla, Wilver and I continued our drinking spree in some hole-in-the-wall bar near the office. We got to talking about possers and how some peeps go to such lengths just to keep up with the joneses. It was, for lack of a better term, very enlightening. There should be a healthy degree of wariness that you have to apply in dealing with different characters even if they “seem” to be your friends. I also realized there are some “habits” that I simply CANNOT and WILL NOT tolerate. And I do not need to apologize for not doing so. Or be guilty that I’m not being “true”. I cannot compromise all of my principles. I think I’ve done that enough lately.
On a positive note, I am slowly getting into the vibe of my new position. There are still a lot of things to iron out, but hopefully all will go well for the next couple of weeks. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
Went to the get-together reunion for balikbayan (daw) Olivia. It was nice. The whole cast was there except for those who are separated by the Pacific Ocean. We ate at this fish place in GB5 and I capped the night out at GB3. Had to go back to the office since I had work. Would have loved going to Gov’t with the pack since I haven’t been there in a while (Try 2 years). Before we parted ways though, Cathy and I got to talking about the possibility of owning real estate and the plans we are trying to do to make us homeowners. In a pause, we each realized the wealth of difference from previous life concerns. This made me realize two things: Either I’m really growing up. Or, I’m finally just tired of paying rent and maintaining a house that eventually I would need to move out of. Haha! I hope it’s the former. It’s a great sign. Maturity, here I am. Deal with it!

Eto kami noon

And, eto na kami ngayon
Still fierce. Haha! Until the next go see!
